Circle is measured from where you first press; Lasso follows your outline. The switch under Add and Remove decides which ZIPs count: Touching (any ZIP the shape touches), Center in (the ZIP's center point is inside) or Fully in (the whole ZIP is inside). For an exact distance, type a ZIP above and press Radius.
To leave out PO Box or single-organization ZIPs (a company, university or government office), or to keep only those, uncheck the others under ZIP types in the list panel.
The dotted grip on each box moves it: click or tap the grip to fold the box away, drag it to put the box somewhere else.
About ZipZoomer: what it does, the data it uses, and answers to common questions.
ZipZoomer builds the ZIP code list for a Meta ad set, the ads that run on Facebook and Instagram. Pick the ZIP codes around your business by radius, draw the exact area, or paste a list, check the 2020 population of the area, and copy the ZIP codes for the ad set’s location targeting.
The map above opens on a 15-mile radius around 80202 in downtown Denver. Fifteen miles matters on Meta: it is the smallest radius housing, job and credit ads may use in the U.S. (see below).
A pin and radius is quick for a single store. A ZIP list is better when the area is not round (one side of a river, a chain of suburbs along a highway), when several locations share a campaign, or when the same area must match your mail, landing pages or reports. With ZipZoomer you can start from a radius, then click ZIP codes on or off to shape it.
For these ads Meta does not allow ZIP targeting, so use a city or a pin with a radius of 15 miles or more. ZipZoomer can still help plan it: run a 15-mile radius around your address with the Touching rule to see which ZIP codes and how many people the circle reaches before you set it up in Ads Manager. The 15-mile page shows typical counts by city.
Meta’s targeting reference lists a limit of 50,000 ZIP codes (checked October 26, 2026). Most local campaigns use far fewer: a 15-mile radius around a downtown holds roughly 100 to 450 ZIP codes.
No. Ads in Meta’s Special Ad Categories (housing, employment, credit and some financial products) cannot target ZIP codes and need at least a 15-mile radius around a city, address or pin in the U.S.
A radius is simplest for one location. A ZIP list fits irregular areas, several locations, or a campaign that must match a mailing or service area. ZipZoomer shows both: draw the radius, then adjust single ZIP codes.
Comma or new line both suit typing or pasting a list. Avoid the spreadsheet table option for this; it adds city, state, county and type columns.
No. You copy the list and add it in Ads Manager yourself; nothing about your ads passes through ZipZoomer.
